Where are you located?
Hillside Ranch Vineyard is located at 14165 Hillside Drive in Jamul, CA 91935, just off Highway 94. We’re across Highway 94 from Jamul Casino — easy to find and a scenic drive from anywhere in San Diego County.
What are your hours?
We’re open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, noon to 5pm.
Do I need a reservation?
No reservation needed. Walk-ins are always welcome.
How much does a tasting cost?
Tastings are $20 and include five pours of 1.5–2 ounces each. The tasting fee is waived with the purchase of two or more bottles.
How long does a tasting take?
Tastings typically last 45–60 minutes, but you are welcome to linger as long as you like.
How far is Hillside Ranch Vineyard from downtown San Diego?
About 25 minutes east via Highway 94 — making us one of the closest estate vineyards to downtown San Diego with a working vineyard and tasting room on-site.
How far from Chula Vista?
About 20 minutes northeast.

What wines do you make?
We produce small-lot, handcrafted wines from our estate vineyard and neighboring East County vineyards. Our estate wines include Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc Wild Ferment, Rosé of Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Syrah — grown right here on our ranch in Jamul. We also produce Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, a skin-contact Riesling (orange wine), and select red blends using grapes from neighboring East County vineyards. Availability varies by vintage.
Do you grow your own grapes?
Yes — we have a two-acre estate vineyard planted with Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. We also source Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling from neighboring East County vineyards.
Can I buy wine by the glass or bottle?
Yes — we offer wine by the glass and by the bottle, along with mix-and-match discounts on half and full cases.
Do you have a wine club?
Yes — the Hillside Ranch Vineyard Wine Club offers three releases per year in February, June, and November. Members receive discounts, complimentary tastings, early access to new wines, and exclusive member events. Three tiers available: Discover, Explore, and Indulge. No fees, cancel anytime.
Is food available?
Yes — we provide complimentary nibbles with every tasting, and offer small, pre-packaged charcuterie boxes for purchase. You’re also welcome to bring your own food.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes — you’re welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it at the vineyard.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes — Hillside Ranch Vineyard is dog-friendly. We ask that they stay outside on the patio.
